Join in at a Special Event for the 50th Anniversary of the Fair Housing Act!
Please join us on April 19th for an FHA celebration with a discussion led by Richard Rothstein, acclaimed author of The Color of Law, and Dr. Karen Gibson, author of Bleeding Albina: A History of Community Disinvesment, 1940 - 2000.
This landmark anniversary represents a great time for us as a community to not only celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Fair Housing Act and its intent to end the rampant housing discrimination and segregation of the mid-20th Century, but also to reflect on the continuing disparities that racial discrimination, segregation, and displacement have created today. At a time when civil rights are under attack and communities of color increasingly are experiencing incidents of hate and harassment, there is no better time for us as a community to recommit to the inclusive ideals of the Fair Housing Act. We hope to see you there.
$10 per ticket, on sale in February. Visit http://ohs.org/fha50 for more information.
