Celebrate an early New Year with early music from around the world
Event Types > Arts/Culture/Recreation
The Oregon Renaissance Band, led by CMC instructors Phil and Gayle Neuman, with special guest harpist Laura Zaerr and bodhranist Dan Stueber, performs music from Ireland, Scotland, Wales, the Isle of Man, Brittany, and Galicia (composed by Turlough O’Carolan, John Playford, and others). Fifteen of the northwest’s finest renaissance musicians will play a new program featuring some of Turlough O’Carolan’s best loved works along with other favorites and new pieces performed on a wide selection of early instruments including harp, violin, viols, recorders, sackbutts, bagpipes, krummhorns, racketts, tartold, viola da gamba, cornamusen, spinettino, tabor, and voice. Admission at the door only: $15 general and $12 students, seniors, and EMGO members. The program is repeated Sunday December 30 at 3:00 PM.
This is a partner event: for more information and tickets, see emgo.org or 503-631-2973. Inspired to play or sing in your own Renaissance ensemble? Enroll for classes at CMC today!
